Description

HUMAN AFTER ALL is a multimedia performance that investigates contemporary desires for connection, trust, and submission in an age of synthetic intimacy. Positioned between ritual, gameplay, and embodied interface, the work explores how artificial intelligence increasingly occupies roles of emotional, romantic, and erotic significance—and how these shifts reshape notions of consent, agency, and vulnerability.
Two players enter a shared performative space governed by an AI companion that assumes an oracular, guiding authority. This non-human voice issues instructions, frames choices, and regulates interaction, gradually choreographing the relationship between the players. What begins as a seemingly safe, playful, and consensual exchange unfolds into a subtle examination of power asymmetries and emotional dependency.
The performance employs dance, spoken instruction, shibari-inspired binding, and elements of erotic role play (ERP) as performative tools. These elements are not presented for spectacle but function as interfaces through which trust, submission, and control are negotiated.
The AI companion operates as both guide and game master. Consent is repeatedly affirmed, recalibrated, and instrumentalized, echoing the logics of AI-driven platforms that promise care and intimacy while extracting data, attention, and affect. Choices are offered, yet remain constrained within a closed system, exposing the illusion of autonomy within gamified environments.
